Approximately 59 thousand app drivers operating in the Distrito Federal have until December 17 to place a new sticker with a QR Code on their vehicles. This code will allow passengers to access essential information about the service provider, increasing safety, trust, and transparency.
To generate the QR Code, drivers must first update their registration details on the Driver Portal of the Secretariat of Transport and Mobility (Semob-DF), including uploading a recent photo. After this step, the driver can access the service area on the portal under the menu “Issuance of STIP Sticker,” where they can issue and print the label.
The sticker must be placed on the windshield in a position visible to both users and inspection agents.
Using any smartphone, passengers can scan the QR Code and check basic information such as the driver’s name, vehicle license plate, vehicle model, and operation authorization.
The system also facilitates the work of inspectors by providing access to complete and always updated data, such as the valid authorization number, driver’s photo, and affiliation with the operating company.
Semob emphasizes that the technology uses information security and encryption features to prevent fraud, cloning, or tampering. In addition, the process complies with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), ensuring that sensitive information is restricted only to the competent authorities.
